David Bromley's studio is like a dream

Like many people yesterday, I couldn't resist visiting A Day on Earth: David Bromley's studio on Chapel St Prahran today. The studio was open prior to the auction of the whole collection of objects, furniture, paintings and other works of Art that live in the place. I have found the experience quite surreal actually, it is rare thing to be immersed into the world of an artist... and I sure would love to give a new home to many objects and a few paintings too! I wondered through the rooms many times, didn't really want to leave in fact. I have a feeling this auction will be an immense success...  Hope those who couldn't make it there will enjoy the few snapshots from my phone camera (although they are of average quality... due to my still average phone!)... Auction is today, you can also check the full list here.

Lovely wooden objects...

Once upon a time I used to spend a lot of time making furniture and products out of timber and since then I have had a thing for wooden objects. It's a visual and tactile texture that I am fond of and it is also a memory of the smell that timber releases when you cut it, sand it or polish it. Since starting anaca studio I have relinquished the making of my furniture to some skilled manufacturers and I sometimes miss working with timber, seeing it taking shape. Maybe one day I'll allow myself to have a small workshop again and make some of these beautiful wooden objects. In the meantime here a small selection for your Christmas list...

Petites cuillères doseuses from Neest, Mote boards from Sandsmade, L'Oiseau from Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec (from Space Furniture), Oak Birds from Kristian Vedel (from Top3 by design), Wooden cups and trays from MrKitly and Fasett Flower Vessel from Stämpel.
